Oyo State Football – In the Ibarapa Sports Festival, 16 teams from Oyo State participated. Among the teams were Saki United, Housing Corporation, Crown Football Club and Seyi Makinde. The state commissioner for youths and sports said the state was committed to finding the best football talent among the youths.

Seyi Makinde

The death of former Oyo State football manager Rasheed Balogun has left a big void in the management of football in Oyo State. Governor Seyi Makinde described the deceased as a hardworking man and prayed for his soul. He noted that the death would leave a gap in the football management in Oyo State.

The event was attended by football enthusiasts and government officials in Ibadan. The occasion was to mark the commissioning of the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Adamasingba, Ibadan. The commissioning of the facility was accompanied by a novelty match between former Super Eagles internationals and members of the Oyo State government. In addition, the Shooting Stars Sports Club, which is affiliated to the Oyo State government, played a match against a Slovenian team.

Governor Seyi Makinde is credited for the revival of the Shooting Stars Sports Club. The team recently defeated Kano Pillars FC at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan. The Shooting Stars won the match by a single goal. Seyi Makinde shared the pictures of the match on his official Facebook page. He also commented on the shooting star’s win.

Saki United

The management of the Oyo State football team, Saki United, has pleaded for financial support. After a 2-0 loss against Sokoto Professionals in the AITEO Cup on Saturday, the team has cancelled their match against Katsina United in Sokoto State.

The football team, Saki United, has reached the final of the 2022 Oyo State Aiteo Cup. In the semi-final, they beat Corner Stones FC 2-0. The game was won by Emmanuel Lucky, who scored a goal in the 53rd minute and the winner in the 70th minute.

The first half ended 2-2, but the visitors fought back and went on to win the match on penalties. Saki United deservedly took the lead and led 2-0 at the interval. The opposition team’s only goal, an Omole Segun penalty in the 55th minute, reduced the deficit. The Saki United players scored a brace to secure their victory.

Housing Corporation

The Housing Corporation at Oyo State football competition recently beat Jigawa Golden Stars 4-2 in the Nigerian Premier League. They played good possession football and showed excellent ability to launch fast counters. They created lots of chances and will play the next match on 3 August. The club’s chairman, Gbenga Kayode, has dedicated the victory to the state’s Deputy Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has promised to make the Housing Corporation more attractive for potential tenants. He recently met with the General Manager and promised to revamp the corporation and the housing estates outside the city. The Housing Corporation has recently appointed a new Bamofin of Kisi, who recently conducted a tour of the Housing Corporation office in Ibadan.

The team’s performance in the state’s FA Cup final was a great result for the Oyo State Football Association. The teams were groomed by the Ibadan Football Association, and were crowned runners-up in the IFA League, a competition organised by the IFA.

Crown Football Club

Oyo State Crown Football Club is one of the top contenders for promotion from the Nigerian League. They have a new GM in Oyekunle Oyeleye, who was appointed by the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports. He was previously the club’s Administrative Secretary and Media Officer. He replaces Rolandson Odeh who was recently appointed as technical manager of Edo Queens FC, Benin.

Oyo State Crown Football Club is a professional association football club. The club is based in Ogbomoso and competes in the Nigerian Football League. Its stadium has a capacity of 5,000. The club has played some of its home games at Ilaro Stadium in nearby Ogun State, but returned to the Ogbomoso stadium for the 2012/2013 season.

The club’s management and members have congratulated the state’s Governor Seyi Makinde, who recently completed three years in office. They have also wished the governor all the best for his administration and for many more years to come.
