CC Logo

If you want to know who created the Creative Commons logo, you’re not alone. A recent exhibit at MoMA showcases a number of instantly recognizable icons, such as the “CC” logo. Nevertheless, it’s always helpful to learn more about the original logo and its creators. Here are a few names you should know about. You may also be interested in this article, which features the work of Alex Roberts, Ryan Junell, Glenn Mayll, and Glenn Mayll.

Creative Commons logos

Creative Commons, or CC, is a program which licenses work to be shared and reused under a variety of licenses. These include Attribution, ShareAlike, Noncommercial, and NoDerivatives. The Creative Commons logo was created by Ryan Junell and took inspiration from the copyright symbol. The MoMA asserts that the second C of CC increases its recognition. CC logos are also used on websites and in printed materials.

If you would like to use the logos or images you find online, you will need to follow the Creative Commons trademark policy. This will ensure that your rights are protected. However, CC licenses do not allow trademarks and logos to be used in a manner that violates the terms of the license. Creative Commons recommends putting a disclaimer of the license on the website or copyright notice, and distributing it to users in an easily accessible location.

For more information, visit the Creative Commons website. The organization maintains an online community where the logos of different organizations can be found. There are several chapters throughout the world, all of which center around shared communities. Some of these include the GLAM community, Communities Activity community, Copyright community, and Open Education community. To find a chapter in your country or region, you can browse through the chapters of Creative Commons by region. The work that these organizations do will benefit the communities.

Ryan Junell

Glenn McLaughlin and Ryan Junell met while flying back from SXSW in 2002. Glenn was a former classmate and the two had been working on a graphic design project together. During their time at the University of Texas at Austin, Ryan and Glenn attended lectures on the early days of the internet and copyright. Today, they’re both working on solo projects. They both have a taste for graphic design, music, and photography, and the logo reflects their shared vision for their work.

The Creative Commons logo is a circle enclosing the letters CC. The logo was designed by Ryan Junell and was a global standard for creative sharing. It is often used on websites to indicate that content has been adopted under the Creative Commons license. The double-C logo is a simple representation of the license: a person retains the copyright but grants permissions to others. The MoMA asserts that the second C of the CC logo increases the logo’s value.

The CC logo was one of the most influential logos for the free culture movement. It was a bold, simple way to portray sharing intent, and it posed a playful relationship with the copyright logo. However, there are many other versions of the CC logo, which have evolved to meet the needs of this evolving organization. And while they’re both highly recognizable, the logo has also evolved into a unique brand.

Alex Roberts

In 2005, Alex Roberts began working for Creative Commons, where he was tasked with expanding and modernizing the existing logos. Among the changes he made were the addition of a simple stick figure to replace the ‘BY’ symbol in the Attribution icon, and a new CC Zero icon. He also designed two new currency icons, the euro and yen symbols, to represent the internationalization of the NonCommercial logo.
