As a football columnist for the Daily Norseman, I’m frequently asked for my opinion on various topics, including the Bengals. Week two of the NFL season saw the Bengals fall to the Bears 20-17. Joe Burrow’s pass protection was an issue, and the Bears exploited it by sacking him nine times and forcing him to throw three interceptions. Two of those interceptions came on back-to-back offensive snaps. And, as a defensive columnist, I’m interested in what the Vikings’ playmakers are doing to defend the quarterback.

The Daily Norseman is looking for writers to contribute to the paper. We are looking for self-starters with excellent writing skills, who are comfortable meeting deadlines. Previous writing experience is preferred. We also want people with a passion for the Minnesota Vikings. Additionally, we need someone who can post and moderate our content on Facebook. Previous experience with social media management is a plus. There are several ways to contribute to the daily paper.
Justin Jefferson as clear cut No. 2 option
With Adam Thielen and Christian Kirk already in the picture, is there room for Jefferson to be a viable second option in daily fantasy football? The Vikings’ offense is a great fit for a rookie wide receiver, but it won’t be easy to replace Thielen. Jefferson should get more targets than Thielen and could be the second option in daily fantasy football for two seasons.
After the ink dries on Jefferson’s contract, the Vikings’ wide receiver depth chart should look like a WR3 and a WR2 tandem. The Vikings have a massive hole at the wide receiver position, but Jefferson’s skill set and size make him an option to compete. The question now becomes, will he be able to replace Thielen in a three-wide formation? The answer is yes, but there is no certainty.
Although there are many questions about the future of the Minnesota Vikings offense, the biggest one is the quarterback. The Vikings are still in search of a starting quarterback and Jefferson is considered their top option behind Joe Flacco and Adam Thielen. Jefferson is a dependable backup quarterback and will give Bisi Johnson some time to prove himself. If he is ready to be the No. 2 option in the Vikings’ passing game, expect him to be a factor.
The Vikings’ offensive system is similar to the one used by the Rams, which allows players to work in different areas of the field. O’Connell, the Rams offensive coordinator under Sean McVay, said in March that Jefferson will be moved around the offensive formation. The Vikings have a history of moving players around. This could help the Vikings make some of their most valuable assets even more valuable.
